when you get a wrong-number call, what do you owe the caller?

some fool called me up today by accident, and when i told him i wasn't who he was calling, he started asking about ME and what was MY name and where do *I* live...i told him to hold up, because i wasn't planning on playing 20 questions with a wrong number call, and that i'd give him my phone number but that was it. and he was all, "so you're not so-and-so, but you won't tell me what your name is, EH???"

it was creepy. i wanted to call back and give him a piece of my mind, but whoever called is probably gonna have his goons jump me on the way to work as it is. sigh

should i have told him all my stuff? that's creepy and wrong, right?

You don't owe them shit! Tell them they have the wrong number/that person doesn't live here and hang up! I screen all my calls- in fact my ringer is turned off! Leave a message *BEEP*

Dont ever answer questions or give out any personal info like a phone number. Hang up next time or get call display.

it is SO creepy when people do that. i had a wrong number call from this guy the other day, and once he'd found out i wasn't "marty" or whoever, he started asking me, "oh, so how are you today? what's your name?"

eek i just pressed the end button without so much as a goodbye.

OMG! Never give out any personal info! They can steal your identity! I can make up a name and sit here and dial randomly until I got someone...Or just take my prefix and keep calling uintil I got an answer. You did the right thing.

The ones I hate are when you make a mistake and hang up...they call you back!!! mad What's that about?

I even get a little freaked when I call someone and someone else answers the phone and asked, "May I ask who's calling?" No, man, I want to talk to Jennifer, not you.
