Mary Harron's "The Notorious Bettie Page" (formerly The Ballad of Bettie Page and The Last Days of Bettie Page) is to be released in March 2006 by Newmarket Films. Harron's film stars Gretchen Mol as Page, Chris Bauer as photographer Irving Klaw and Jared Harris as bondage enthusiast John Willie. It was written with Guinevere Turner, who cowrote and starred in "Go Fish" (1994). She originally wanted to star as Page as well, but during the development process she wound up behind the camera — in addition to writing, she's one of the film's producers.
