So during my (working) weekend in Palm Springs, the couple I was working for asked me to become their permanent nanny. Or, as we joked later, Manny. That's right, me, in childcare. The role has grown out of my previous work for this couple who are a Film Producer and Film Director. I was an assistant to the Producer, and sometimes had babysitting chores. The baby is adorable and very easy to care for. The work would be only 28 hours a week, and pays more than double what I made as an assistant. It's still a little less than what I'd like to be earning, but I love the flexibility and variety that it would allow me. I'd have time to work on my screenplays. And, they are both great contacts in the indie film world. So the day to day is not what I thought I would be doing careerwise, but the long term benefits still help me get where I want to go. And it doesn't start until JUne 10, so I can take this entire month off -- maybe go visit an AZ Orger, then spend some time back home in Colorado.

Or

I can pursue the production work ath I was previously on. Then I work 12 hour days on movies as they are filming, for about the same as I'll make as a Manny. Pretty easy choice, yes????

I'm sure the baby would appreciate your easy going and friendly nature. I'm sure it will all go swimmingly. Sure the pay not be what you were looking for but as long as you enjoy it.
