I don't know if we have those in the States- I don't eat fast food. But one of the things that I really miss from Europe are the pomme frits with garlic mayo! YUM YUM!!

I can remember street vendors cooking up batches of fries- you could smell them for blocks!! They would deep fry them twice- once in lower heat oil to cook them and then a second quick fry in hotter oil when you ordered them. The outside is crunchy and salty and they offered all kinds of sauces.



If I ever go back to Europe I'm eating nothing but pomme frits!
