the praying mantis is one of my favorite animals - as insects go, they just seem to have tons of personality and intelligence. i used to have a roommate who owned a flower shop, and if she ran across a praying mantis on the way to work, she'd scoop it up and let it roam around inside the store. free pest control, and it blended with the decor perfectly!

yeah...they are awesome !! we have many of them round here and they can get rather large

Yuck. Those things scare me.

I love them. A giant one landed on my shoulder once in Thailand. I picked it up and put it on the table and boxed with it. You can actually box with them.
