Queen to be followed by man in bear suit!

Activists howl over bearskin hats

By Cara New
Associated Press
Published May 16, 2005

LONDON -- The British army's towering bearskin hats have been a familiar sight outside royal palaces for almost 200 years, but some folks are hollering about the tradition.

Animal-rights activists are demanding the hats, made from the pelts of North American black bears, be replaced by artificial fur, and one protester plans to follow Queen Elizabeth II in a bear costume when she visits Canada on Tuesday through May 25.

woot!

Perhaps they have the wrong idea here. Instead of replacing the fur, maybe it's time to replace the hat. May I suggest...?:

ALICE: I'll assume it for now.

ALICE: My favorite activities are computer programming and surfing the web.

I thought they already were fake fur! I know that the royals replaced all of the ermine pelts on the crowns and cloaks a good few years back. I fail to see why they would not have changed the Coldstream Guards hats too.
