Philippine Islands ...



i have wanted to take my best friend back to his homeland to see his people
( family )that he does not remember and their land ( he left for america @ a few weeks age )

has anyone been to the Philippine Islands ?

Yes, but I was a real young child and we only stayed a few days.

The entire chain of Islands going all the way to the Marianas are beatiful.

I'd go to Saipan or Guam. Saipan is breathtakingly pretty in spots.
Quieter. Too much political mumbo jumbo in the big PI.

The natives in Saipan along with the people of the phillipines speak a simular spanish-derived dialect. Saipan is a U.S. teritory though, so it's easier for you to get around in--and all the citizens grow up learning english.

English speakers can get around fairly easily in the Philippines as well. I've been there a couple times. Once you get out of the dirty, noisy city, things are fairly beautiful, but with all the political upheavel at the moment, I'd recommend looking for a better vacation spot unless you can blend in...
