now i see where the term "SCAREDY CAT" comes from

ever since yesterday morning I hsve been hearing meows coming from my backyard..

.. judging by the sound of it's meow it was obviously from a kitten not a cat.... by mid day yesterday after 10 attempts to catch a glimpse of the lil guy I finally spotted him/her

and slowly tried to approach it but the lil bugger ran up a tree

and as I climbed the tree (haven't done that in years) it just kept climbing higher so I left it alone...

then the fuckin bastard crows started messin with the lil kitten and surrounding it...

so I pulled out the hose and as I sprayed at them to leave it alone the kittenclimbed back down an took off.....

today I hear him again and tonight he sounds like he's inches away but too scared to trust anyone or thing.... I've placed some food outside to lure him in and help him.....he's way to scared athough his meows are sounding like he's coming closer... any suggestions on what to do?

Do you have an SPCA or other rescue group you could ask for advice?
They would probably let you keep the kitten if they think it's yours.
Or you could get one of those traps they have for wild animals and put the kitten food in it...the kitten goes in and the door closes behind him.
I don't know how long a kitten can live without proper food.

If you have enough time to do so, sit out in the backyard and let him/her get used to you being there...maybe place some food nearby...wear clean socks...oh, and shave, fer pete's sake, you look like a bum!

my door for my room has been open for hours now directly overlooking the yard.... there is a trail of food leading to a bowl of food + waterbowl as well! my socks are clean! thumbs up! as for shaving.....I wouldn't do that to the lil pussy ... lol

calling them will be the last resort! unfortunately I'm alergic so I can't keep him but I know many cat owners homes that would gladly take him in! biggrin

Try keeping the food closer to your door, maybe just inside? If the kitty gets hungry enough it will get to the food.
