I lived in a haunted house for thirteen years. Crazy.
Funny, out of all the people that lived there, we never talked about it until we moved out. The hauntings stopped right after the original owners were killed in a car accident, shortly before I left. At least I think the hauntings stopped, haven't been back to check.

I do believe in hauntings. I have so many family stories that I can write a book. A couple of things have happened at my house. My ex roommate was very sensitive and said that there's a little girl roaming around. She doesn't make contact with me though. My mom passed away in the room that I now sleep in. I feel her a lot. The weird thing is that I feel her more in the living room and kitchen. Everytime I settle in to watch a movie in the living room I have this feeling that someone is going to come up form behind and hug me. I know that's her so it doesn't freak me out.

But what about dat phenomena where you talk or think about a topic or whatever and somethin will come up either on the radio, or the tv? Sometimez you say a word or phrase and it gets repeated on tv or you see it in print just after you say it? A symbol follows you? You notice it cause it seemz bizarely significant- sometimez you know why and sometimez ya don't? Know somethin's gonna happen, or *sense it* for example you think out how bad it would turn out if you forgot your work keyz and you think yeah, i'll make sure THAT won't happen 2morow while you visualise it...but then it happenz (and it never happenz!!) Your conscious mind working on a subconscious level? Anyone experience flashes of somethin and it happens a second or a few minutes later? The weirdest thing happened to me last May. I was driving downtown, big mistake, during the Cinco De Mayo celebration. It was really busy. I was with my friend. All of a sudden I got a really strange feeling and I said "Omar, something's going to happen, something's going to happen." I totally tensed up. 2 seconds passed and BOOM. There were shots heard and people were running everywhere. It turned out the police had someone in custody, he escaped and got into the police car and tried to get away (idiot). They ended up shooting him. M MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop! When I was 16, and my mum first started drivingz, we were in her car and I all of a sudden got a flash in my mind- like a movie- that she'd make a bad turn onto our home street...i didn't wanna say anything at da time cause she was a very nervous first time driver...and lo n behold...she turnz on2 the street from a busy road and comez INCHEZ from smashing in2 a power pole!! My FIRST reaction wasn't 'omg are you alright?' it was 'omg i just SAW that happen!!! ' ...it's funny how it happenz- not often but when it does it'z a sensation of time literally standing still for dat moment of seeing it happen. Another odd thing is, is that if i say my premonition- it doesnt happen, i dont say a word and it does My dad actually experiencez da exact same thing. It'z supposed 2 be genetic. http://www.lizzie-borden.com/ . [Edited 6/6/05 20:01pm] Lizzie Borden is an interesting mystery. After being found not guilty, she moved to a house of her own and lived there alone all her life. She may have been abused by the father, if she was guilty. There was a place in the basement that would have been an easy place to dispose of the weapon. They never found the axe..... Anything is possible.

I don't know if I believe in it. I'm quite a rational person: I thing I know it can't be possible, that it's all in the mind. But on the other hand I can freak out when I see a tv-program about the subject. Like last monday: there was a program about a family whose hous had been 'haunted' for a couple of years and they decided to let a professional solve it. I didn't watch the whole program (I had to study) but I was scared when I had to go to my room that evening
Maybe I do believe in it, but I haven't discovered that yet

We've been to old homes, a mansion, prison....I can't wait to go again this year.... If you live in Ohio, there's a ghost hunting group called SpiritSeekers that plans trips doing this. I met up with them once to visit some locations, and they were really nice.

I never understood why ghosts do all kinds of goofy stuff like slam doors, rearrange furniture, etc. If they can move things around, why don't they simply pick up a pencil and write down what they have to say?

shellyevon said: Absolutely, we owned an old house that had some sort of spirit in it.
It was not a fun experience. I'm the only one who actually saw a shape that looked like a woman, but there were many things that couldn't be explained happening like we would leave the house spotlessly clean and when we came home there would be clothes and papers thrown everywhere. It mostly bothered us in one room upstairs. It was a really small bedroom and we could hear footsteps and it was always a little colder near that room.A couple times the door locked itself from the inside with one of those spring loaded hook locks. About a year ago we had an electrical fire and we were able to sell the house. We just never felt like it was our house.Whatever it was in there didn't want us there. I had very similar experiences in a house I went too. It's supposed to be haunted but I didn't believe that, until I went there. Footsteps from the attic, a picture moving for now reason and a very cold atmosphere under the stairs, for no logical reason. I also had some premonitions, people dying and I know they will some minutes or hours before. Very creepy. I really don't know how to handle those things.

I love ghost stuff...
I've got a book that describes every single haunted place in the U.S. with directions to them and everything. There is a place in Half Moon Bay called the Moss Beach Distillery. Supposedly, there is a bloody woman who haunts the bathrooms there. I didn't see her, but as I was eating, I saw a swinging lamp moving when no one was near it.

yes, i do. The City of Ventura used to have a wonderful historian by the name of Richard Senate. He used to host "ghost tours "through out the year. There was a ghost tour every Friday the 13th as well as Halloween. This was always a sold out event. We have losts of haunted places in Ventura county. Houses, resturants, hospitals, theatres..etc... Say it's just a dream...
