GottaLetitgo---About to Meet My New Daughter! It’s about 1:10 in the morning where I am and I can’t sleep. Tomorrow (or later today) is a big day. I am excited and scared and 100 other emotions wrapped up into one. The reason: my new daughter will be born in about 8 hours.
Let me back up a second. Kind of coming out of the blue isn’t it? Some of you are saying, “aren’t you the guy who has been talking about Aquaman and that guy from Karate Kid the last couple of days.” Yeah, that’s me. I have been real down lately, trying to figure out my place in the universe, and I have playing around with my persona in the Org. But I thought about it and today I decided that I’m going to be real from now on. I am not as interesting as most of you on the Org but damn it I’m too old to be acting like something I’m not. I’m just a boring middle class guy from Nowhere, South Carolina who loves my wife and child and can’t wait to see my new baby tomorrow. So that is what I’m going with from now on. Keeping the Vanilla Ice avatar though. I have been married for 7 years and I have a 3 ½ year old daughter who is the highlight of my world. Her sister is going to be delivered tomorrow in a scheduled C-Section. I have those “back of my mind” fears for the safety of all involved but I know in my heart everything will be okay. My wife does not share my Prince fandom but did admit to like the two concerts I forced her to go to. I do like Aquaman and Michael Winslow and that dude from Karate Kid (and all sorts of other obscure crap) but she is my true hero. She’s a great mom and a much more developed person than I am. So my emotional state has been all over the map but right now all I feel is love. Love for those I have in my life, love for those about to be in my life. And love for the Org, a place where Prince fans can go and talk about Prince or just anything. You are all so cool and thanks for just being out there. All good things they say never last... | |

We all try to figure out our place in the universe throughout our lives. It is an ongoing process. Don't let that hold you back in your personal development on other levels. Your children will need a mature dad who is comfortable enough in his own skin to emotionally accomodate others. The org is just a stupid website, but I have a feeling that your behavior here reflects your stance towards real life. So: good call. And congratulations! (Now log the fuck off and go to your wife! You sound like a wonderful husband and Father! good luck to you and your wife and daughter with the arrival of the new lil Zoey! please do post some pics! Babies are just precious aren't they?!?!

Back home with daughter #1 while wife and daughter #2 are resting at the hospital. All are healthy and I couldn't be happier. Zoey was born this morning at around 10:00. 9 pounds 13 ounces. She is huge! She is also adorable. She has a head full of hair and the cutest little smile. All involved are happy that she looks like her Mom (just kidding  ).
Thank you everybody for the kind words. Reading these, I just appreciate the time that all of you took to jot something down and it was nice to come home to.
A website like this is what you make it. Initially I just used it to talk about Prince, which I will do again whenever he comes out with some new music to talk about (or if I can think of something else to say about how brilliant I think Sign O The Times is, etc). You can use it to be silly or get attention. (klhk, you were on the money on your assessment-I have been trying to make friends over the last few weeks and catch people's eyes). Or you could use it for support, which is what I needed last night with my original post. Thank you Org for being there! Hope I can return the favor one day if someone else needs it. Now to sleep...I'll keep you posted. All good things they say never last... | |
