So who watched part one of that made for TV Elvis movie with Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Elvis?

The bf and I watched it. (recorded it too!) It won't be nominated for an Emmy anytime soon, but it was pretty decent I thought. Definitely a lot better and more accuraste than I expected. Then again, it was made with the approval of Graceland and the Presley estate, so that shouldn't be a huge surprise.

As for Jonathan's acting: He doesn't look a whole lot like Elvis, but he acted the character very well and did an excellent job staying in character for the voice. Especially considering JRM has an alto speaking voice with an Irish accent, and Elvis had a tenor voice with a Southern accent.



Also, all the publicity articles I've read say that JRM's "never played a rockstar before." Um, hasn't anyone heard of Velvet Goldmine?

So, no one watched it?
