I Da Vinci Code was the last book I read, it was very exciting, nod

I've just started his other book "Angel and Deamons". It's good as well.

Hi Althom,

I'm almost done with Angels and Demons. It's really good. I hope you enjoy it. Of course I've been reading this for ever. I don't get time to read since I'm on the org all the time.

Do you think those books are genuine? I like the material; it's very uplifting ... but I'm not sure if I believe that the author is really conversing with God. Like, THE god ...

I recommend "Invisible Monsters" by Chuck Palahniuk and "Sarah" by JT Leroy. Both incredible works by incredible wordsmiths.

The Abarat series by Clive Barker. It's like Alice in Wonderland, with nightmarish, fantasy and lots of other elements. Plus stunning artwork of the author throughout the books nod

Well, I do think God talks to us in an infinite number of ways...I took the phrase "Conversations with God" to be more God-inspired "truths" than actually hearing His voice and all that...lol...I mainly just paid attention to the life philosophy espoused, and found myself starting to truly change how I viewed my life... nod

Perhaps. But the premise of those books are that the author claims he is actually talking TO GOD. The guy blantantly states that he's conversing with God via automatic writing. I like the philosophies and believe that they DO stand on their own ... but I question whether or not the author is a charlatan or not...no matter how true the philosophies contained within are.

Da Vinci Code was great, and all the Dan Brown books are good (almost identical!)

I read a series recently called His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman
1. The Golden Compass
2. The Subtle Knife
3. The Amber Spyglass

They're great fantasy books--kind of for kids, but really only because there's no swearing in them. They're actually very deep and totally sucked me in.

They've been compared to Lord of the Rings, though they're not really anything like it (I think what people mean is that they are almost as good).
