Heroes of GottaLetitgo Part 7--William Zabka

You may not recognize the name but that mug has got to look familliar. If you needed a badass, cocky villian in the 80's, you called on this guy.

Look at this incredible hot streak he had as a ruthless villian:

1984--Karate Kid
1985--National Lampoons European Vacation (Audrey's cheating boyfriend)
1985--Just One of the Guys
1986--Back to School

Then Hollywood turned on him, of course. Not being able to harness the pure evil that he could portray, the roles got smaller and smaller and now he is in movies like Shootfighter, The Interceptors, High Voltage, Mindstorm, Falcoln Down, and of course Shootfighter II. What a waste of talent! Hollywood, wake up, and put this guy back in big movies.

And then BAM! nothing since!

It's like he did what he came to do and then just walked off into the sunset!!

Now THAT'S a hero!

Good one, GottaLetitgo! thumbs up!

He should have seen that kick coming in Karate Kid though. I mean, wtf?
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

That's what makes him such a hero though! He's got vulnerabilities!

Zabka always played his villians fair. They were bad, they deserved comeuppance, and they got it. He did not try to shade the moral black and white grey. Johnny was bad, he had to go down. Zabka had the character accept his fate, fall prey to that mystaical crane kick, so that Daniel-san could be triumphant. A lesser actor may have gone to directer/screenwriter John Avildsen and said "Look, dude, my character is black belt who has kicked everybody's ass and I get beat by a 150 pound Liza Minelli look-a-like with a gimpy leg who pulls a easy to defend crane move out of his scrawny butt. Please!"

A lesser actor...but not Zabka.
