The US has a lot of good sports coverage, and there are some funny shows, but the overall quality is not as high as British TV, IMHO, and in particular the comedies shouldn't be compared. US TV seems very safe and unwillingly to push the envelope. Definitely a case of quantity over quality and a very cozy, safe approach to programme making. News coverage on BBC News 24 or internationally on BBC World is also superior to CNN. | |

Almost everyone I know that has satelite or extended cable watch the BBC America. Their comedies and mysteries are so much better than the American ones.Hollywood takes the really good British shows and turns them into total crap.
I can't stand those mindless talk shows,they're only worth watching if there is a good band on. As for the news, BBC World gives a different perspective than any American news .
