Herb gardens

biggrin

who plants an herb garden ?

here is Tr last yr ... looking at the flowers we put in our new rock garden ... today i just planted my herbs there instead ( updated pic to come )

boxed sorry - my daddy is the only "herb" in the garden at the farm
and my reason for gardening is fresh peas! woot!

I have just started one. I have Rosemary, Oregano and basil. I HAD cilantro...but it died. sad I want to do more...but am not sure what to plant.

lol it's just that I don't use different herbs that often..mostly basil and oregano. Though I should other kinds more often...I cook enough.

I built an herb garden last year. I planted one again this year. Luckily, some of them survived our winter.
I made mine with edging, I made a circle with it and then my husband cut me some wood so I could make dividers. Once I put the wood in, it was a peace symbol with the herbs in between the dividers.
I call it my peace garden.
I have lemon tyme, purple sage, lavender, parsley, oregano, chocolate mint, purple basil and pineapple mint.
I will have to get a pic of it and post it.

actually my brother is the one with the most fantastic herb garden. my little plot doesn't even compare. he has completely bordered his yard with sage, thyme, rosemary, foxglove, st. john's wart, goldenseal, basil, lavender, etc.

he's sculpted the earth in his yard, added berms and sumac, trellis' and arbors.
me, i do birds more than plants. but he has an absolute green hand for his garden. i bow at his feet.

I just planted mine last month in a few ceramic pots that I have. Ive got 3 types of basil, mint, thyme, parsley, sage and rosemary. I love fresh herbs. Theres nothing like it.

me me me! I do! I have oregano, basil, flat leaf parsley, chives, garlic chives, echinacia (sp?)aka cone flower, sage, chamomile, st. John's wart...and...I think that's about it..gonna plant some more though...not sure what. I have a lil water feature in mine too...I'll have to get some pics biggrin
