Yes...how about...let's just stay together in bliss and happiness the best we possibly can. Fuck a "contract" of love that just applies undo pressure upon the sheep that actually do it! Don't get me wrong, I believe in a union if you are built for it, but don't cause yourself unneccessary stress brought on by outside influences by giving into yet another unnatural notion.

so you believe that staying with one person is "unnatural"?

I think your gender is showing. While you have some women who buy into this "unnatural" concept of marriage and commitment, I do feel that its a male concept to feed their hunter psyche. Men think they can't stop "hunting".

Men love to buy into this notion that people CAN'T have a lifetime committment and that marriage, as it stands, its unnatural.

I do think many shouldn't get married. Nothing wrong with singlehood but I think that a contractual marriage, like today, can work.

giggle

Why O Why must the Gender card be played?

And tell me where "I" said staying with one person is unnatural??? Show me!

I said the concept of "marriage" is unnatural....NOT being with one person. Damn Girl....are you related to Threadcula??

I don't think the government makes a lot of money from divorce.

Pretty much, the attorneys rake it in. Filing fees are pretty much standard, as far as the court is concerned, the rest of it is eaten up by bickering back and forth and paying your attorneys to fight it out for you.

So, it's the lawyers who get rich, not the government.

I did think about it...lol...and the amount of money that the government would get from people divorcing is so miniscule that, as a conspiracy theory, it's rather weak. Easier to simply invent new taxes for single people to pay, than it is to try and brainwash the entire populace into thinking they must be married, and then deprogramming that same brainwashed populace and letting people feel they are better off divorced so that the goverment can get a few hundred dollars off each person in the end...

If there WERE a conspiracy, it would be behind marriage, and it would be for the sake of "control"...not money.

Ok..since Azure entertained you Byron....think about legislature that gets passed and how the church influences this, then factor in the money making industry (which we don't see it as called Lawmaking) and see how certain marriage laws have come to pass at the hands of the religious right and how in turn it affects the GNP (money making potential) of the lawyers of the world.

Carry on....

Well, your explaination doesn't contain too much clarity, but I'll assume that you're saying that the conspiracy is the government and churches are in cahoots to make the lawyers of the world rich...gotcha...lol

I still say, as conspiracy theories go, it's pretty lame...

Then....we have something that is called "constituency" which the lawyers represent, but certain campaign "contributions" that will sway a certain group of politicians or just one in order to keep the money making machine a well oiled one.

Government invents the "contractual" agreement and it's "laws".

Lawyers are the only persons that can act as laisons in court right?

So.....how can you not see how this is a cycle at work?

But, you're saying it's done so that the government can make money...yet you don't really show where or how the government makes enough money from this cycle to make it worth their while to even bother.

Like I said, control would be a MUCH better reason for conspiracy than some phantom "money making machine" at work behind the scenes. If anything, what would make sense is saying that institutions found a way to make money from the "conspiracy of control" called marriage that was already in place...not the other way around as you're saying.

Divorce rate from NoMarriage.com

Divorce rate information.

4 out of 5 men regret marrying.

Divorce rate is around 60%. Majority of remaining married men are stuck in sexless marriages with nagging and bitching wives, but they choose not to divorce because they are afraid of being wiped out financially during divorce. Furthermore, majority of relatively happy marriages are among very religious people, people choosing to live a simple lifestyle, people living in the rural South/Midwest, and recent Hispanic immigrants. If you are a normal American guy living in a large metropolitan area marrying a normal college-educated American woman who is looking for the American dream (a nice house, kids, good life), then you have over 95% chance of either getting divorced or trapped in a miserable marriage.
