Yes another relationship question for ya....

When a man and a woman are friends for a while and then decide to turn into a romantic relationship, is this type relationship better than meeting someone who you don't know, dating for a while to get to know them and then decide to get into the relationship???
I've experienced both, and each has its +'s and its -'s.

Friends turned into lovers:

Positive:
* You already know each other, so for the most part you know each other's moods and/or what they like or dislike in a relationship.

Negative:
* Since you guys made it so easy to talk to while you were friends, you've run out of things to talk about, and (for the woman) it isn't really necessary to hear every single detail about what happened at the strip club saturday night for guys night out or (for the guy) all of a sudden you start to question how many guys she told you she slept with while you were friends versus what she is telling you now.

Strangers into lovers:

Positive:
* Nothing is more fun than the beginning. Getting to know each other takes up a lot of time and decreases on boredom. There is always something to talk about.

Negative:
* You soon suspect that the guy/woman you are dating is the slasher suspect on the news.

I've done both....and actually found it a little harder dating a friend. They know EVERYTHING about you...so there's no hiding what you're thinking from them.
But saying that....I wouldn't have changed the time I had.

It is indeed better--

especially since we can meet people and have no idea if they are "our kind of people"---

With your friends, if they are your freinds, they know exactly what kind of people they are.

If anything, your should be friends with the people you date regardless of how it starts.
