I've been popular on the org since black and purple! When I left and came back ppl remembered me and celebrated my return. [Edited 4/29/05 19:49pm] Not true. You've been well known, kind of like that misfit on the bus that all the other kids either picked on or avoided. You're like a dim and almost desperate Zelaira clone, but with none of the actual charm. I picture you as a 15 year old plump kid like this one: http://www.funpic.hu/swf/numanuma.html url edit [Edited 4/30/05 4:00am]

Getting this kind of shout-out can only be compared to how an unknown actor must have felt back in the 1950s when a Mr. Francis Albert Sinatra came into a crowded room and gave him a nod. Honey, I lurked around this place for a very long time before I posted. The reason I came here was because I found a whole bunch of people who enjoyed the same things as me and I revel in that daily! Trying to get attention here is very short lived as in dealing with people/life off of the org. Folks will see you for a minute and go away to deal with the stuff in their own lives! Orgers are busy working folks like everyone else and cannot be uplifting all the time. Seek to uplift yourself! Post on what you like and be you! Enjoy in the craziness and when you do remember that this is only the internet not life. I have seen folks burnt out trying to think up threads and how to be witty all of the time. If it is not in you, it will be hard to be the most popular one on the org. It is very easy to spot folks who are trying to hard to get attention. Be real, be you and be loved! I think I prefer the new power generationary sarcasm thing. See its comments like this that keep me from being popular on the Org. I'm getting help with this problem by going to various "one-liner" intervention groups. All good things they say never last...

Like a person that loves to talk too much and just loves the sound of their own voice, there are people on the org who just love to type constantly and respond to every thread. Doesn't make them all interesting people though.
Don't mistake the propensity to post for popularity, truth be told, i dislike a lot of those 'constant' posters and what little of interest they have to say anyway.

Have you considered a more noticeable avatar? Prince pics tend to be lost in the crowd. You need something more noticeable, like Milty has a tiger and Pandurito has his cat and Althom his robot... You need to have like, a character. Something individual to make you stand out.
Of course, if you look really good, you can always use a picture of yourself, like I do. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

Looking at a picture of myself I finally realized why I am so uptight. I cut a whole in my bag for eyes but not over my nose or mouth. I can't breathe in the damn thing. And ordering food at the drive-through it really rough, too, because they can't understand me through the bag. I need a better bag or maybe I will go the P. route:

GottaLetitgo said: When Chevy Chase left SNL for movies, Bill Murray replaced him and was immediately considered a pale imiatation of Chase (who was adored by SNL fans). Murray took a lot of crap and he finally got sick of it and did a skit where he said "I don't think I'm making it on this show." People loved the skit, eventually fell in love with Murray and the rest is history.
I find myself in the same place. I didn't replace anybody but after a year on the Org and almost 400 postings, I feel like no one knows or cares who the hell I am. I fear I am not making it on the Org. Now I know I have not earned my stripes and some people have like 7000 postings and have been around forever but I thought that there would be a few GottaLetitgo fans by this point. The occasional "that sounds like something that wacky mofo Gotta would say". But instead I blend in to the wall, no discernable persona to speak of. I provide the occasional witty comment, throw out the occasional "tongue in cheek" response, and generally feel that if I stopped posting tomorrow no one would really miss my revolutionary brand of sarcasm too much. So my question is this: do I have the stuff to make it as a legendary Orger or I am destined to just be a slightly amusing, innocuous contributer? Does it take time? Am I being impatient? Do I need to post more on the General Discussion site so that you all find out I am just as twisted as you weirdos (even not infinitely moreso)? What will it take to put Gottaletitgo on the map? You're ranked in my mind as one of the more knowledgeable orgers, and I'm surprised I've got more posts than you. Don't hurt me, I'm a newb. I'm supposed to be stupid.
