Take those risks, folks! One of my best friends is in town from Tampa (she lived here until about a year ago, when she moved down south to be closer to her biological father).
This girl is a stunner and could have easily been a very successful model (possibly supermodel, she's that good looking - pic below), but was never serious enough about her career to make it happen. Such a waste. I was just thinking about this 'cause I'm sure she'll want to watch my ANTM (Season 1!) DVDs and will sit there the whole time critiquing the chicks. Folks, if you have a "talent", don't be afraid to take a chance. Better than kicking yourself when you're older.

THats sooo true! I once produced some demos for a girl who had a voice like an angel and definite songwriting potential. She had a fear that she was talentless like "those people who go on Jerry Springer and think they can sing".

She just did some modelling for this particular designer. In her personal life, she is more submissive, sexually. We've attended a lot of fetish parties together, but she's not a "lifestyler" - she's just more into the fashion of it.

It was fun to dress up in rubber! My friend Liz just retired from the dom business. THANK GOD. She was doing some nasty shit. And I mean NASTY! And it wasn't good when a wife found out her husband was seeing her. She was getting death threats!

I used to date a girl who had once worked as a Domme in NYC. She told me one customer wanted her to shit on a glass table while he watched from underneath. [Edited 4/29/05 12:36pm]

just a rumour going around about that specific bizarre fetish. I don't know. She never mentioned anything about the guy being British. Who's this rumour about?

[Edited 4/29/05 12:36pm] There's a name for that but I can't remember what it is!! She's done worse things...I guess I'll tell you. SHE will shit on a plate and make her clients eat it. She will put an electrifying butt plug up their ass after she gives them an enema. Then hang them upside down while gagged and also an electrifying cock ring on. THEN once they can't hold in the enema anymore she would make them shit in a bucket and drink it with a straw. How's THAT for nasty? butt plug edit [Edited 4/29/05 12:40pm]

This also reminds me of some incredibly nasty porn I saw, where this old dude fucks these girls made-up to look like teenagers. In addition to ramming his cock so far down their throats that they're gagging and throwing-up, he also jams a speculum in their pussies and makes them drink his piss. Wait a minute...weren't we supposed to be discussing following your dreams?

THats sooo true! not to mention that, considering what your talent is and what kind of style you have, it could take your whole life to realize your goals, even if you get to a point that many would consider "success".

i agree with the basic message of carpe-ing the day. . .
but a supermodel lifestyle is not really the best long-term choice she could make for either her health or her mind. to play devil's advocate one could even say is it really necessary for every single person on earth to become a 'star' even if they have the talent to do so. what's wrong with leading a balanced life as a normal person? just my 2c.

For her, model/actor was the best choice she could have made. But that ship has sailed (certainly the modelling). In this case, it was not about becoming a star (in fact, I think fame has many more negatives than positives), it was about making a decent living without a good education.

I'm always amazed how people will help you out if you just ask. In the last year, I've approached several luminaries in my field--possibly could even be called famous-- and just asked for some information and a conversation. Each time, it jolts me forward in my path A LOT, not to mention builds my confidence and makes me wonder, "Why doesn't everybody do this?" I'm not even petrified to just call someone up anymore, no matter how illustrious they may appear.

I get a little frustrated sometimes, not pursuing my creative side, but for the most part I'm not particularly ambitious beyond just trying to make my wife happy and looking after us. Call me soppy but if I get to the end of my life and know I've given my wife a wonderful, happy life, that'll be enough. I don't think it's necessary to make a name for yourself, or as many people wish so much for, to leave something of themselves behind. I like having food to eat every day, a bed to sleep in, tea to drink, and good people around me. I want as simple and uncomplicated a life as is possible.
