Does anybody know how to germinate an avocodo seed the correct way? I tried planting a seed in dirt but nothing grew. Back in the day a friend of mine would put wacky tobacky seeds in between some damp toilet paper folded and keep it damp daily until it sprouted. An avocodo seed is 100 times bigger so I poked two holes on each side and it's sitting in water right now.  I did it out of instinct I think.  am I wasting my time?

My friend Daniel, a plant pathologist suggests just planting it in the ground. It should sprout. Mangos and such all sprout... Mangos and avocado's are much alike.

Place the pointy in up when you plant it. maybe I planted mine withh it's ass pointed in the wrong direction and the seed couldn't sprout upwards.... oh well trial and error -------------------------------------------------
