Mine is bodybuilding which is more than just going to the gym a few times a week and lift weights. It's a lifestyle which has a pretty bad reputation too.

Besides that I don't have any other passion. Nothing that takes up so much of my time...and money. Football used to be my passion for many years, but due to lack of knowlegde on training, rest and nutrition I endured many injuries and decided to quit. I wish I would have known back then what I know now. These days I just stick to watching it on TV. Yes if one of my fav teams loses a match I can be sad, angry and I will swear never to watch another game again...ever. lol

I'm not very creative so even though I used to be a pretty good writer, I've never been one to write fiction. Other things which require some creativity I never even been interested in to give them a try.

so how hardcore does it get, the bodybuilding?

presumably it pretty much dictates your diet, right? times of meals, the make-up of the food, the amount of that food etc?

and yeah, i was diagnosed with hyperactivity when i was a lot younger. wink

Yep, yep. When putting on mass it includes eating even when you're not hungry or feel like puking. When getting rid of bodyfat it means working out just as hard with the same weights as you do when you're eating 1,000-1,500 calories more. So that means it becomes a mental thing.

Besides that you also need to do a lot of your own research and read, read, read. You're basically on your own, which is why those kind of bodybuilding/fitness forums are such a success so you can get some sort of support.

Alright, in all seriousness now. I used to play basketball, write, paint, draw, photograph, make music, engineer live music, and sing, but since I moved to Thailand my lifestyle has changed a lot. I haven't brought my music stuff out with me, haven't bought a pad and some pencils, and I don't have a camera here. I try to live a simple life, so my passions are eating, sleeping, taking care of my wife, and I guess I'm just not that ambitious. I can't lie though. I do miss those creative outlets sometimes. I read quite a lot and I don't consider my time wasted. I'm taking everything in and maybe one day I'll produce something from my experiences.

What's up? I'm trying to get back into weightlifting, I hate to say bodybuilding because if I say that people look at me and say "Oh, okay". It's funny because I was really into it. I had a trainer and stuff. I got into really good shape. I fell off for a minute but I have to continue. I get discouraged a lot because it's hard for me to be disciplined. I know that I need to eat better. People always discourage me because they always talk about genetics and how I will never have a flat stomach, blah blah blah. It makes it harder for me. So for about 8 years I've been working out and considered it my passion. I do love to work out and that's half the battle. I love to eat though.

Music is another passion of mine. I used to play saxophone but stopped. It surprised me when Prince was using a lot of Baritone Sax because that was an instrument I specifically good at. I played Alto Sax and Clarinet. I've been trying to learn keyboard but I'm lazy. I can read music but have yet to write something.

Of course! That would definitely be it. I didn't think of it. I rarely read novels, in fact, and nearly always philosophy or religio-philosophy.

Thanks. I'm not on the ball today. smile

I hear ya, though on the other hand I don't like to call it weight lifting because then people assume I'm a powerlifter or something. I do try to find a bit of a balance between the two. The dieting is hardest by far for me as well. Even when I'm pretty lean I still have a bit of a gut, not a lot of fat on it, but that's something I've always had. Sounds like you got the same "problem". It's something I see in a lot of athletes from latin America though, so I assume genetics do play a big part in it.

So these days you're more into listening to music? Collecting maybe?

Marathon running which requires total dedication to do it right (3 or 4 hours as opposed to 5 or 6) and being a Milwaukee Brewer/baseball fan are my passions and trust me people don't understand either.

It's funny you mention powerlifting because I probably would be good at that. My legs get huge like most powerlifters. I just don't want that gut they all get. I tried to take a pic of my legs the other day and my left one is a lot bigger than my right. When did that happen? Haha!!

Yeah, I listen to many different types of music. ROCK, HIP-HOP, a very specific type of HOUSE. I like BACH & TCHYKOVSKY(?) I like old PUNK not the shit they say is Punk.

In case ya didn't know, I'm a highly opinionated, sometimes, asshole-ish woman. My passion is speaking out on social injustice and looking out for the future of children. Even though nothing ever comes out of it, when I feel moved about something I see or hear on television or radio that I feel is inappropriate for minors, I write letters to radio stations, newspapers and networks.

I have a passion for movies and music, too so I'd probably work in a record or video store for free if I had the time.

That's sweet of you to say, Joey. smile I can come across very strong in the way I feel about stuff in P&R and on MJ threads and when I go back to look at some of the stuff I've written, I'd probably call me an asshole. lol

I used to be very passionate about advocating for the rights of children with autism as I have an autism son, but I don't push as much as I used to. I started a Yahoo group for the members of our support group that has grown to over a hundred members so I gotta get back to being an asshole mom so our kids get the services they deserve.
