That movies was good. But Like "I Am Sam"...it was written after the writer read the book called..."How to Make Humans Cry"....I don't like crying so I hate that. But they're both excelent movies.

oh come on, anyone that doesn't know the ending of this movie has to be living under a rock. In practically every TV news spot I see on this movie, they blow the ending...

I didn't either, and I thought the ending was too contrived to be believable. It was a good movie, but since I've never read the book it's based upon, I can't verify if everything about it is true. I don't plan on buying it when it's available on DVD.

BINGO!! thats exactly how i felt...

and yes the story is told exactly as in the book..however, morgan freeman's character was from a totally different story. and he was much younger in the book.

yes it's very good, maybe the last part is a bit too long.. and I liked The Morgan Freeman character, the young boxer wanne-be "retarded" guy is poignant too and the white trash Margaret family is sordid.

I honestly think that the men in hollywood went to see a Clint Eastwood boxing film and ended up crying. And since men dont cry, the felt like Clint had performed a miracle and started honoring the film with awards....ultimately rewarding it with oscar nominations (and all the attention that goes with that) and then the win.

if this film were only about woman it would be called a chick flick and would never have achieved the acclaim that it recieved.
