WalMart is the DEVIL!!
Target is the way to go! Isaac Mizrahi designs for them, and they don't censor their music or literature, and they pay a living fuckin' wage!!

I avoid walmart like the plague. In our area (and I'm assuming elsewhere), its a mecca for trash. The place is jam packed with rude obnoxious people, and all their kids.
Target is 10x nicer. The aisles are wider, the people shopping there as well as the employees are generally nicer. Its cleaner too. I used to go to walmart to have my pictures printed (instead of doing a contact sheet) for my photo class, because at the time, they had one of the newest color labs in the area, so the prints came out nice. But one time, they put a nasty letter in my order, saying that they refused to print certain pictures they considered obscene. I was shooting pics of storefronts and manequins, and apparently, the dipshit working there thought it was pics of naked people. Never again... The prices really aren't THAT great at walmart. Even if a pair of jeans is, say 12 bucks, vs 30 for Levis at Penneys, they aren't Levis, theyre some cheap off brand that dont fit as nice anyhow. You can usually find stuff just as cheap at places like Big Lots, KMart, Target, Staples, etc...

Target does not have the variety and the low prices that Wal* Mart offers the public!
Wal * Mart is a family store and my kid was practically raised at Wal * Mart!!! Fuck Target. I suspect Wal * Mart owns TARGET anyhow!!!! WAL * MART RULES!!!!! [Edited 4/26/05 20:00pm] Haters travel in packs and they are offended or threatened by klhk, haters express intense hostility toward the subject of hate. Haters are annoyed and roll thier eyes when klhk is paid a compliment. ask yourself, are u a hater?

As Tom pointed out, a lot of the people there (working and shopping) are just mean and nasty. Again, the prices aren't that damn low for what you're getting.

I'm sure that the dozen or so local small businesses that had to shut their doors for good after your super Wal*Mart opened up, don't share your enthusiasm.
I'm not hating - just pointing a fact. I have shopped at Wal*Mart - but I prefer Target. The store is cleaner and the lines are always shorter. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

Seriously, even places like Kaufmanns and Dillards are always running clearance sales. Around Feb/March you can get all kinds of Ralf Lauren, Polo, and other nice shirts, sweaters, and coats dirt cheap. I'm talking 50dollar shirts for like 8 bucks. Household products are just as cheap if not cheaper at Dollar General. I went shopping for a new TV last year, and the only one I could find at Walmart that was the size I wanted and had the features I wanted was $225. I went to Best Buy and found one just as nice for $170. Wal Mart has a few spot products here and there dirt cheap, but overall, most of the stuff costs the same as it does at other department stores.

if anyone has any care for human rights and basic human decency please boycott Wal*Mart..
its sad when you work fulltime yet still qualify for wellfare. we should not be subsidizing wal*mart's cost of doing business.... its disgusting that people dont care enough to notice this. Space for sale...

[Edited 4/25/05 18:40pm] 15 things to do at Wal-Mart Things to do at Wal-Mart while your spouse/partner is taking their sweet time: 1. Get 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in peoples carts when they aren't looking. 2. Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals. 3. Make a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the restrooms. 4. Walk up to an employee and tell him/her in an official tone, 'Code 3' in housewares.....and see what happens. 5. Go the Service Desk and ask to put a bag of M&M's on lay away. 6. Move a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area. 7. Set up a tent in the camping department and tell other shoppers you'll invite them in if they bring pillows from the bedding department. 8. When a clerk asks if they can help you, begin to cry and ask 'Why can't you people just leave me alone?' 9. Look right into the security camera, use it as a mirror and pick your nose. 10. While handling guns in the hunting department, ask the clerk if he knows where the anti-depressants are. 11. Dart around the store suspiciously while loudly humming the theme from "Mission Impossible." 12. In the auto department, practice your "Madonna look" using different size funnels. 13. Hide in a clothing rack and when people browse through, say "PICK ME!" "PICK ME!" 14. When an announcement comes over the loud speaker, assume the fetal position and scream "NO! NO! It's those voices again!!!!" And last but not least: 15. Go into a fitting room, shut the door and wait a while and then yell loudly "There is no toilet paper in here!"
