KIDDIES SONGS!

Who likes them?

Mr Saunders Says

There’s an elephant in the kitchen
Asking for a cup of tea
At least, that’s what Mr Saunders says
What Mr Saunders says

It’s dressed in an orange overall
And wants to play with you and me
At least, that’s what Mr Saunders says
What Mr Saunders says

But what Mr Saunders says ain’t always true
He’s saying the moon is purple and the sun is blue
What Mr Saunders says
What Mr Saunders says

There’s a dragon living in the backyard
But this one isn’t mean
At least, that’s what Mr Saunders says
What Mr Saunders says

It loves to play hide and seek
For sure a sight to be seen
At least, that’s what Mr Saunders says
What Mr Saunders says

But what Mr Saunders says ain’t always true
He’s saying the moon is purple and the sun is blue
What Mr Saunders says
What Mr Saunders says

Mr Saunders says there’s treasure hidden everywhere
It can be found with this map or by people who really, really care
Mr Saunders says that pirates came to fight him yesterday
Saying he wasn’t frightened and that he sho’nuff made ‘m pay

But what Mr Saunders says ain’t always true
Now he’s off to bed dreaming a dream or two
Goodnight…

A few months ago this was my bread and butter, singing with the kids and jumping around making a fool of myself.

Happy days. smile

Itsy Bitsy Spider

The itsy bitsy spider

Crawled up the water spout

Down came the rain

And washed the spider out

Out came the sun

And dried up all the rain

And the itsy bitsy spider

Crawled up the spout again.

Well, Mach's one, as well as 'The Wheels On The Bus', 'Heads, Shoulders etc.', and countless self-penned classics based on caterpillars, elephants and the like. In fact, I used to write and illustrate books for the K3s (5 year olds!) and then make up songs based on them. I look back on that with fondness, although at the time I bloody hated the school and my situation there!

You talented bugger, you. clapping

Well, most of mine must've been heavily derivative. The kids were 5 and 6 year old Thais so we're not talking about anything too remarkable as far as the writing goes. Gotta keep it nice and simple and act the fool.

My father used to sing...

No more money in the bank,
No more babies to be spanked,
What's to do about it?
Let's put out the lights and go to sleep.

It came to mind a few months ago and now I'm wondering where it comes from. Certainly very interesting!

The Alphabet, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Mary had a Little Lamb are all the same melody.

Whoever wrote it is really rich now.

omfg there is this song that we play at Bunny Jam...simply Madness...I actually found the lyrics....

FINGER FOODS
(Words and Music: Hap Palmer)
©Hap-Pal Music, Inc.

Chorus: Finger foods, finger foods
I pick 'em up and pop 'em in
Smoosh 'em on my cheeks and chin
Eat 'em with a happy grin
Finger foods, finger foods
When I'm in a hungry mood
Momma won't you please include
Some good old finger foods

What to you is one big mess
To me is total happiness
I love to touch and feel the things I eat
I pat 'em with my pudgy hand
Hopin' that you'll understand
As I grow I'll stay more clean and neat

Mash potatoes, crushed tomatoes
Apple bites and bits of meat
Globs and globs of cereal
There's so much good food to eat!

Repeat Chorus

I pinch 'em with my finger tips
To smack 'em in my hungry lips
Now don't go sayin' baby's bein' rude shake
When I press peas in my palm
Please don't panic, just stay calm
It's my way of learning about food nod

Jouncing, bouncing in my seat
Daddy ring the dinner chime
Plop those pieces on my plate
Every meal's a party time! woot!

Repeat Chorus

ssb- I LOVE this song!

OK, here are two of mine.....

The fried Ham song....

Fried Ham, fried ham,
cheese and bologna,
and after the macaroni will have....
onions, and pickles, and ketchup....
and then some more
fried ham, fried ham fried ham!

Little old man from china...

My mother told me to answer the door,
but I didn't wanna,
I answered the door and he fell on the floor,
the crazy old man from China.

My mother told me to take his coat,
but I didn't wanna,
I took off his coat and he smelled like a goat,
the crazy old man from China.

My mother told me to get him a drink,
but I didn't wanna,
I got him a drink and he swallowed the sink,
the crazy old man from China.

My mother told me to take him up stairs,
but I didn't wanna,
I took him up stairs and he walked like a bear,
the crazy old man from China.

My mother told me to put him to bed,
but I didn't wanna,
I put him to bed and now he is dead,
the crazy old man from China.

My mother told me to bury him deep,
but I didn't wanna,
I buried him deep and he stuck out his feet,
the crazy old Man from China.

There you go lol

Maybe I can load it on my puter at home and somehow upload it to you. It's a really crazy song. I didn't even know what it was really about until I actually paid attention to the lyrics.

There is a famous composer out there that Made music especially for Babies (No not Howie B) but it's older music...that's for sure. confused I can't think of the guy right now. Ambient Music pioneer. too.

"The Marvellous Toy And Other Gallimaufry" by tom paxton is the album to seek. Though it is also called "going to the zoo" to I think? Both have same tracklists so.....My dad played me this folk singer all the time.

here are some of the titles of the songs. Infact, this album is great fun. (rare apparantly).....dropped in 1886 on flying fish records. He is american too.

Englebert the elephant
Fred
Come and play catch with me
Going to the zoo (OMG I remember this one and Iam 19 and havn't heard it since I was 6)
My dog's bigger then ur dog (we all know what kids arounf 10 change that to)
The marvellous toy (awesome song)

http://www.amazon.com/exe...82-2822309

Check the samples out. It is not "barney" type shit beleive me. I gotta thank my dad for playing intelligently written kids stuff to me.
