I have been before, you know. It's not a dump in the capital, Vientiane. It's actually a very interesting place with some striking architecture. The people are friendly and we can communicate reasonably well there as Thai and Laos have quite a few similarities. The food's not bad, though not nearly as good as in Thailand, but Beer Laos is a very decent beer.
