I have been before, you know. It's not a dump in the capital, Vientiane. It's actually a very interesting place with some striking architecture. The people are friendly and we can communicate reasonably well there as Thai and Laos have quite a few similarities. The food's not bad, though not nearly as good as in Thailand, but Beer Laos is a very decent beer. smile

Thanks. neutral It doesn't need to be talked up. Any travel to another country is good, surely. It broadens your horizons and the experiences are priceless, be they good or bad.
