Superman Returns: The first pic of Routh as the Man Of Steel Last week, the first pics of Routh in Clark Kent garb were unveiled. Now, we get to see him in the classic tights:

Bare in mind this is based on one photograph. I'm sure I'll think different once I see it in action.
I must say, this guy looks the part, and so far seems to be filling those big boots. Having said that, and knowing that I am a traditionalist when it comes to these beloved characters, here is what I do not like about it: 1. The red is awfully dark, what's up with that? 2. The "S" is really tiny. It makes him look wimpy... that symbol should spread across his whole chest. 3. Why is there an "S" on his belt? Not nescessary. ** 4. The boots look odd to me. ** With trying to make these guys as realistic as possible, I do not think any one of them would market themselves, and display their logo on everything. It's just tacky. Just another reason I never liked the old Batman movies... that logo was put on everything in the movie. It only needed to be in one place... over his chest. Yes, sell t-shirts, hats, magazines, posters... whatever you want with Superman, and Batman sheilds... but they wouldn't put it on everything in real life. | |

I'm honestly thinking that's what they were thinking when they cast him. This could easily be the second gayest superhero movie ever. If you're going to make a gay superhero....make a gay superhero. This movie should have been written by Kevin Smith, directed by Tim Burton and starring Nicolas Cage! | |
