 great read..took me soo long the org logged me off...
a few of my memories? all the wendy and lisa defending ive had to do (and still do)...i've looked back at some of those rants and can't believe how articulate i used to be..my my how the brain has faded over the years... WRONG FORUM!! coming back to the org (after a two year break) as sosgemini and arguing with aaron over site moderation and 2the9's asking, "and you are?". ya lil shit.... 
meeting natsume at one of the bay area picnic thingies.... everlastingnow is the wendy and lisa guru.....(somebody asked that earlier).... its funny, some people when they are trying to put me in my place (as a moderator) will throw in comments like, "supposedly respected" or "well liked" or "popular" but I tend to be a bit of a lurker when it comes to personal discusions...thats mainly why i stay out of the gd. i'd suspect a good chunk of the people on this site dont even know who i am....but despite me not getting to know people personally i must acknowledge that i feel like i know alot of you simply from reading your posts. but what an awesome collection of people this site brings together... this thread is a wonderful reminder of that. NuPowerSoul, he was cool, where's he at? When The Rainbow Children came out this place was off the hook. This is what I remember pretty well. I joined sometime before The Rainbow Children came out, if I recall this correctly. I've been hanging around in the Prince-forum, mostly reading stuff. I don't think I asked many newbie-questions as all the information was so overwhelming.
After a while, I started to post things in the General Discussion, but I'm still rather silent I guess. I must say my popularity grew when I finally figured out how to have an avatar... I remember many names mentioned here, but I never spoke to them. The first people to be really nice were the Dutchies, and Senik of course. Oh yeah, I remember the beginning of the war in Afghanistan as well. There was a demonstration against this war in the city I live in, I went and came home idealistic, until I started a discussion with EvilWhiteMale and some other guy. As for my org memories... sosgemini was the first orger I met! I met him along with Paisley, theC, BAD... Freespirit was supposed to make an appearance but I think she got lost! My first argument ever was with DORA... that was exciting. I did my fair share of orging about two years ago. It's tapered off since then and we've lost a fair amount of people. But I've met lots of orgers! On both sides of the pond. I count myself lucky that way... I remember when Christopher and I used to dick about on the phone for hours and hours and hours. I would take my infamous "10 minute naps" and pass out for hours at a time (leaving him stranded on the org, lol). Moonbeam came to visit! That was amazing. We tormented mushrooms all weekend. I also recall loads of funny little jokes... all those weird alteregos ( ), and that catfood thing, and then Catsume (), the foil thing... remember when the org crashed and only those who had auto-login could post? We were all left out in the cold!
OH and when I first started posting here regularly... I'd have photos of sexxxy boys as my avvies! Apollo Ohno and Jimi Mistry... Aaron was particularly disappointed that I turned out to be a little girl. good times... I mean, like, where is the sun? | |
