Its like saying that the person in the most extreme circumstance of being soaking wet or drenched is still only a certain insignificant weight. I hope I explained that well. Ok, I get it. Thanks. Actually, that did cross my mind when I originally read it. but still...

Having worked in customer service...I can tell you: she wanted you to tell them off! A person who is pretty much helpless in a situation always wants to see their bully get their due.
I would have asked these guys if there were any particular reason they couldn't load the bags- maybe in a nice way- "You look so strong, why can't you do it?", then if there weren't a good explanation I would have told those guys off and then if they still refused to put the bags up themselves, I would have helped her load them. dreamfactory313 said: Hello Orgers! This afternoon, I stopped at Home Depot to get some flower pots, potting soil and some rust remover for my bike chain. When I got to the checkout stand in the garden department, there was these 2 dudes buying about 10 super sized bags of potting soil. They looked like they were about 30-40 lbs a piece. She rang them up and then she began to ring me up. One of the dudes went to pull their car around to the exit to load the huge bags of soil. A minute later, the guy comes back to the cashier who is about 5'6, 120 lbs soaking wet and asks her to help him put his soil in the trunk! I couldnt believe what I was hearing!! There was 2 evidently healthy adult males who refused to load their own purchases and wanted this young lady to muscle those huge bags into the trunk. I was too disgusted by this. As I walked to my car with my stuff, I looked back and this girl was heaving those bags into their trunk while one of them sat in the car and the other supervised!!
What ever happened to common decency? Why are you disgusted with Home Depot? Christian Zombie Vampires

What ever happened to common decency? The Home Depot is rediculous. Trying to find decent help in there is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. You stakes at Vegas would be much higher. I dred going there b/c its hell trying to find a clerk to assist to find things in that damn big place. [Edited 4/20/05 12:17pm]

Of course I did...Disgusted at people at the Home Depot...not at Home Depot directly. Direct Object issues...I understand. I have days like those. Christian Zombie Vampires

One of the cashiers at my store is a woman in her late fiftys with many health problems. A customer once when checking out lifted up his bag of cement for her to wrap with shrink wrap so it wouldn't leak. She explained that we don't have any shrink wrap at the registers. He said what the hell are you people good for and let go of the eighty pound bag that he had two feet above the counter. It landed on her hand and broke it. He picked up his bag and stormed off. She spent six months in one form of cast or another.
I see this attitude (tho usually not as severe) every day :OjitheFanKeybumpersticker:

I wanted to add that if I had ended up helping her load the bags, I would have considered accidentally on purpose making a hole in one of the bags on the underside.
Then again she might have gotten the blame for it if they complained to her manager... "My bounty is as boundless as the sea,

Its too bad that people abuse customer service in our society. I guess people are so use to not getting good customer service that they are ready to lambaste employees at the slightest hint of incompliance. Such a shame, but such is life.
