Thursday, April 21, 2005 ASSOCIATED PRESS NEW YORK - NBA regular-season attendance averaged 17,314 this year, the highest in league history. Total attendance of nearly 21.3 million topped the previous mark of more than 20.5 million set during the 1995-96 season, the league said Thursday. Excluding the addition of the expansion Charlotte Bobcats, NBA games still drew more than 432,500 fans this season than last season. This year's average attendance mark exceeded the 1995-96 record of 17,252 and last season's average of 17,050. Detroit had the highest attendance (22,076), followed by Chicago (20,204) and Dallas (20,061). Charlotte (14,431) was next to last among the 30 teams, and New Orleans (14,221) had the lowest mark.
