Irregular Heartbeat

This morning after only sleeping for 2 1/2 hrs I woke up with my heart pounding strong. Not fast, just heavily, heart rate was 55 and I noticed it was very irregular. It kept skipping. Someitmes after 3-4 beats it skipped one and then the next would be at 7 or 8....1, 2, 3, - , 5, 6, - 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, - ....very strange. I've never noticed that before.

As I'm sitting here typing it's currently 60 and back to normal. Any ever experienced something similar? I'm not too worried about it, cause if I was I would have made an appointment with my doc. Maybe if it happens more often in the future. Right now I'm just curious if anyone ever had the same.

I understand what you're saying. It's just one of those things I feel stupid about going to the doc for because everything is fine now. I know it's not the same, but it's like going to the doc saying you had the flu last week.

So what do you do about your situation, are you on meds or anything?

missmad

an irregular heartbeat is anything 2 worry about, in some its normal. go c ur doctor if it repeats other than that u ll b fine. Heart palpatation can b caused by many things like stress, fear esp since u woke up like dat maybe ur worried.

Just take a glass of water, drink it slow 2 calm urself down a bit. it all good.

I get HP numerous times, cause im always stressed out.i gotta learn 2 chill.

i thought i was fine till i passed out and had to go to the docs, I have a faulty valve not bad enough to need surgery thankfully i just have it monitered every few years or if i feel "odd"

i used to take valium if it got too bad but now I tend to deal with it myself

just the dizzy ness and breathlessness sometimes that annoys me

Right it's not like valium is that healthy anyway.

Valium has such bad press and as a anti depressent its not the best, but the ammounts I have taken it's not addictive physically or psychologically, it just relaxes the muscle slightly.

it helped me when i needed it and was much better than having a zillion palpatations aday, now it only gets bad if i'm ill or stressed
