Let's explore this...so...you're saying that the initial attraction...defined by "hotness"...must be there before you'll even listen and look at the person "inside"...so...then if that test is passed you could fall in love with said person...and then the definition of "hotness" would change?

I wonder...if in the early stages...it's possible to shift the importance placed on the outside and pay more attention to who the person is on the inside...

nope, not saying that at all. what i am saying is that, if i fell in love with someone, i doubt that the fact that they physically change is going to make any difference. Of course what the person is like inside is just as (more than) important than whether i think they happen to be "hot". For example, if I didn't find someone hot in the first place, it's entirely possible I could fall in love with them and then find them hot. Love does that to you.

If I've got you wrong, and your intentions were purely for curiosity, forgive me, but I wonder what your point is with this thread...

I'd say its fairly obvious that this isn't the societal standard of "hotness". Of course there are people with fetishes for this sort of thing, just as there are, say, I don't know, booty fetishes. It should come as no shocker to anyone that most wouldn't find this attractive. So why beat it to the ground? Women with weight issues face enough every day.

I feel like you're waiting for someone to say, "nah, that's just nasty" and then you'll praise them for having the "guts" to admit the truth. And I'm not sure why. Is this a post to prove the nicey-nice-y-ness of the org? That if someone would imply that anyone is unattractive the PC hounds of the org will rain down on them? Well, so be it. If someone's opinion isn't "nice" and they speak up anyway they don't get points just for being honest. They're still an ass.

And I'm not quite saying you're an ass, analbolique. I've been thinking a lot about this. In one respect, I can see the point some make that they feel people are just too nice, to a point where they doubt the sincerity. And I suppose there's a bit of that in the world, sure. And there are certainly times that it is courageous to voice an unpopular opinion. But when it comes to things like this it just goes back to the old "if you can't say something nice, don't say it at all". Why hurt feelings just to prove a point?

With this issue in particular, is it so hard to believe that someone could find any of these women attractive despite their body? I'd wager a guess they all have someone who loves them. And chances are they're having wild, passionate sex, too. Sure, looks are important, but there is so much more that is more important. I guess for me what attracts me to someone isn't their body, or their face or what have you. And since that's how it works for me, I gotta assume there are folks out there who feel the same. I'm not delusional. I know this isn't what most people are like. But there's a lot of folks who aren't too bothered about it either.

And, I have to add, I really find the middle picture quite beautiful. The softness, the curves, the contours, the model's courage in capturing something about herself that most would find, well, appalling. Defiant, even. I bet you could even appreciate that.
