i liked it, but it left a few loose ends, imo.

the entire movie is a letter being written to eastwood's estranged daughter - it's ok that we never meet her but imo it would have been nice if they'd rounded this bit out by flashing back to whatever led to the estrangement.

at the very end, when we see eastwood at the diner, savoring that key lime pie, was that simply freeman's take on what he might be up to? are we to assume he ditched the boxing life and bought the diner? did he commit suicide? (remember, eastwood took two syringes of adrenaline with him to the hospital)

i would have liked knowing a bit more about eastwood and freeman's friendship. instead of a scene where the two of them narrate how they hooked up, a (black and white?) flashback would have been nice, imo

mostly i liked the movie

you all need to put spoiler warnings when you tell pivital plot details. no no no!

my views on the film? too manipulative.....too many sapppy director decisions.....horrible ending.....

and i did not believe that "suprise twist" at all....that being said, okay its a melodrama...stuff like thats supposed to happen to move the plot to a new place...but, the place it moved to had too many errors (her thinly written mother, that whole morgan freeman writting crap and then the diner scene.. headache )

it was a good movie..not great and no way was it better then The Aviator.

oh, you've got to be kidding me! I can understand your feelings on Million Dollar Baby (don't agree, but I get what you're saying), but the Aviator was a SNOOZEFEST. What's her name's portrayal of Katherine Hepburn was a shining star, no doubt, but as soon as she started to drop out of the storyline I just kept wanting her to come back. An OK, movie, but WAY too long and quite boring.

oh yes im serious....this isnt saying that The Aviator was the best movie of last year but it deserved the Oscar moreso then Million Dollar. My biggest beef with MDB? The voiceover. There was no reason for it. It dumbed down the movie and added nothing to the film (besides pointing out the obvious). It took me out of the moment far to often.

The Aviator was a well made historical bio without any director errors.
