Hooligans! I almost got stuck in between fans from Feyenoord and Ajax
There's this soccer match today (Feyenoord - Ajax) and even i should have known better I wanted to go to the supermarket to buy Gamba's but in order to get there i had to drive near the stadium and got stuck in the traffic while young hooligans threw stones to the police It was scary Now I'm home safe and let the match begin

for cheerleaders.
It's on Sat 28th and Sun 29th May. Called the International WV-HEDW Tournament 2005. I'm not sure where at the moment. In fact, this is all the info. i have: " The exact program has not been decided upon in full detail yet, but it won’t differ that much from last year’s program. This means that on Saturday (group) games will start at 11.30 a.m. Games will take 2 x 15 minutes each, depending on the number of teams that will participate. As for now, we depart from 20 teams, which means that there will be 5 groups of 4 teams each. So each team will play three games on Saturday. (Count on the same on Sunday.) On Sunday, games (cross finals, semi-finals etc.) will start somewhat later – partly due to the fact that some of the teams the night before will want to stay out till the early hours – at 12.00 h. The tournament will be finished at about 16:00 p.m. On Saturday, after the poule games have ended, there will be live music by one of the (many) WV-HEDW bands from 16.30 p.m. on, plus the traditional huge BBQ between the club house and the first pitch, created & signed by our maître cuisine Rob Palm. Afterwards of course there will be plenty of time to sit on the banks and chairs in and around the club house, having a drink or two (etc.) and contacting the other teams from Berlin, Gent, Antwerp, Cologne, Poland a.s.o. Though there will be a real distribution of prizes on Sunday after the games have ended (no team will go home without a cup, and the most monstruous cup will be for The Winner, of course), this tournament is primary for sociability and to get in touch with one or more international teams. (That’s the reason too for the official – and even more monstruous – name of it: ‘International WV-HEDW Fraternization Tournament’. All participants are from the lowest regions of the national football leagues in question. So if a team can not relegate no more, it is very much welcome at our tournament. To pay for referees, cups, BBQ, music, dressing rooms, bartenders, pitches a.s.o., we ask 10 euro per player. In return you get a 2-days tournament with official referees, nice pitches, extensive BBQ, plus live music on Saturday night - and as we hope, two beautiful days full of football pleasure and lots of fun. Besides you might revive your foreign languages a bit. As for now, some ten foreign teams have signed up already: - one from Poland; - two from Germany (Cologne and Berlin - winner last year); - three from Belgium (one – perhaps two - from Ghant, one from Antwerp, and, most likely, one from newspaper ‘De Standaard’ from Brussels); - three from England (one university team from Bournemouth, and two from London, consisting of journalists of two tabloids). -and one team from Scotland (North-Berwick, not that far from Edinburgh, with one of Britains best golf courses, according to reports). Above these foreign teams, the following teams will participate: - a (veterans) team from Koninklijke [Royal] HFC of Haarlem (oldest football club of Holland); - a team from The British Society (people from Great- Britain, working in and around Amsterdam); - an internationaal team of Eik & Linde, quite a famous pub here in Amsterdam; - a veterans university team from Nijmegen; - and a team of the Amsterdam newspaper ‘Het Parool’ (they have their own team, Sunday 10, at our club). So once more the press will be well represented at our tournament. Above these, four WV-HEDW teams are participating: Sunday 11, Saturday 19, Saturday 15, and my own team, Saturday 20. We are negotiaing with two more teams, one of the Dutch football journal ‘Johan’, and one of the NOS, the Dutch television (where a.o. Ruud Gullit works as a commentator, so – who knows). The main inention is to have a good time, so the program and list of participants might change on details. Hope you can progress further now. I look forward to hearing from you. Please phone or mail me, if you need more information. More information about our club you can find on www.wvhedw.nl"
