somethings wrong with the twins !!!!

well damn, i have a question for anyone that knows the answer...

as i mentioned before, i had to go in for a mammogram about 2 weeks ago, doc felt 3 lumps in one breast, and 1 in the other. nothing showed up on the mammogram, so i thought all was well, in fact, the doctor called me to say that all was well... then they called back 3 days later and said i needed to see a specialist for a sonogram of the breast area. i asked why if the mammogram was normal, why was i doing this ?? they said they just wanted to 'make sure'. well, it turns out that the 'specialist' im going to go see is a surgeon eek

now, what the fuck is really going on ????? they are talking about draining some sort of cysts, or removing them with surgery eek this is NOT making me feel comfortable shake and APPARENTLY, they dont even put you to sleep before they come at you with a needle to 'drain' whatever the fuck is in there disbelief she asked me if i was able to feel them, i said, well, i wear a DD-DDD bra, i cant feel anything in there !!

and to make matters worse, they are located way inside bawl so, they would numb the skin area, and then put the needle in and 'move it around' until they can get to them all barf wtf is this shit about ?????

i said, well, do i HAVE to have this done ??? she said no, but, its highly recommended sigh

any of you girls out there know anything that could help me sleep better tonight ???? bawl im scared sad

thanks sweetie hug some things i have learned from questions i just asked, i feel i should pass on...

*breast cancer is NOT painful until its in its latest stages... thats why its important to have them checked often.

*i thought if it was cancer, it would grow all in one piece, that is NOT the case.

*breast cancer DOES NOT have to run in the family... no history DOES NOT mean that you are safe.

thats all for now, i'll let you know when i calm down what else i can remember....

Well, all I can tell you is that my mother had this done. I have not. Evidentally, it is a non cancerous cyst that is deep in the tissue, and it is kind of like a boil. By that I mean if they were to drain it without removing it, it would only fill back up. I can tell you to research careful before you make any decisions about your health. There are lots of on line resources for you, and when you go to the surgeon, make him or her explain the pros and cons of the procedure and the benefit to you. Let the provider know that it is your body, and that you have to live in it. Make sure you fully understand the long term effects of non treatment. As far as the fear of the procedure, do not work yourself up. It is only a waste of energy. I have had to face lots of scary medical things recently, and have found fear of the unknown or of the needles is useless, and when the time comes to be brave, my health is enough to make me step up to the plate and endure. Good luck in whatever you choose. wink

I wonder why some people consider this topic to be something that should be "kept to yourself" yet graphic threads about bodily functions, private sexual experiences or preferences, or personal family & relationship issues are acceptable thread fodder? confuse

As for keeping this sort of thing to yourself, I think some folks just have the antiquated notion that "woman issues" (any medical stuff having to do with breasts, vaginas or uteruses) shouldn't be spoken of in public, but instead be kept quiet about as though those type of medical issues are something to be ashamed of or are too uncomfortable/disgusting to discuss in public. rolleyes It's harder to deal with certain female medical problems because of weird societal ideas that they're "not to be discussed in public" and I think that's pure doody and not fair or right.

nakedpianoplayer - You talk about this all you want if it helps to do so...and it *does* help to talk about things that are scary - it helps a person to feel not so alone and helps you to learn. And to educate others.

My thoughts will be with you. I hope everything turns out OK. I know this is a scary, confusing situation but be brave and do what you must for your health. anniefannie gave you good advice. nod
