Can you say that again in english for us dumb people? wink

sweetheart. you are so far from dumb. is it just me or do you tend to 'dumb' yourself down around certain guys as i do?? maybe its just the men i tend to meet but they seem to be intimidated by highly intelligent women (no...i am not tooting my own horn...i have been tested but if you know me on here at all i do not really act intellectually superior to anyone, as i have said i actually tend to 'dumb' down, for lack of better term...sorry i digress) so i tend to minimize my vocabulary and not engage in debates (which is one of my favorite things to do...argue!!)

maybe its just me though.

i need to meet more men that are on my intellectual level.

wink

I know I'm not dumb, but yes I do tend to dumb myself down at times. It is usually men that bring this out in me, but I do it around some women too. If you play dumb people do not expect much from you, or better yet do shit for you. Dumb is power nod

now i know you can only speak for yourself and i think i know you are not, however do you think the average man is intimidated by an intelligent woman??

i need to find a man who can have a heated yet concise discussion/debate/argument without being insulted or offended and then have some naughty, angry sex.

do they make them like that???

You'd do much better to try silence...as it leaves them wondering WITHOUT an impression.

This place used to tolerate a certain level of intellectual diversity, but those days are long gone, and it's kind of a bummer.

Thanks Tackam

We Orgers are of a quilt of many various intellectual fabrics, so why is independent thought not nourished here? Why do the powers that be feel it necessary to moderate our minds?

I don't see it as the powers that be, or moderators as much as other orgers. whatever, I've been here for a few years posting and responding to the things that interest me, just searching them out between the weeds

So what does that have to do with you..."they think" and that is their own thought processes taking over their actions....if they choose to go on assumptions then they are setting themselves up to be the "ass"...unless they investigate what is going on in their minds, then and only then can they substantiate their own thinking.....

I use silence as a weapon...no one close to me thinks they can figure me out...they all say you are a level headed and peaceful brotha....and noone steps to something they don't understand....pity.

If this is what you seek, then you must surround yourself with energy that is congruent to your own sweety. Yes, of course there are people out there that are compatible to your mind and body, but if you are constantly surrounding yourself with those not on your level higher or lower..then you are dooming yourself into that abyss.

really??!!

i was always taught knowledge is power. wow. i have been wasting my time learning all these years. a degree doesn't get you anywhere and men prefer dumb women. shit.

lol

i understand what you are saying though. if you have all your cards on the table and show just how smart you are people expect great things from you. if you fail or get any type of lesser result they are disappointed.

for example...i was tested (I.Q) in middle school and i tested higher then my father (who is a psychomitrist), so when i brought home a B in Math he was upset. a 'B' is above average but since my I.Q was so high he expected me to get all 'A's. that sucked!!!!

anyway...thanks for the response...i appreciate your point of view.

and girl...i respect your intelligence!!!

No and intelligent humor isn't appreciated either. Don't even bother using any form of sarcasm without announcing it first.

I think this place does respect intelligence-- when used creatively. Humor is the best way to show it. Throwing out a bunch of large words, dry sarcasm, and using a bunch of useless facts and examples to support one's position don't hold much weight. Nobody likes a know-it-all even when they're right. I admittedly fall into that category from time to time and the more words I type the more... I ... feel....like... I'm..... preaching. smile

Case in point.

no. But then Iam not very "intelligent". People who claim so fail to claim that their intelligence is most likely learnt from books and tv. If thats intelligence, then why is it?

if all of one's intelligence is learnt solely from books and the like, then it really doesn't make it so.

nod I feel experiences and overall understanding of the entire world dynamic is also a huge contributor to intelligence and knowing....or awareness.
