Oil is great if you're trying to get very vibrant color.
It's very dificult (thought not impossible) to achieve the same vibrant hues with acrylic.

I prefer acrylic becuase of the speed, but from time to time I'll do oil.

Well, actually let me correct this statement -- I've only recently started painting again.

It takes a lot of trial and error to get the colors REALLY bright with acrylic.

Did you go to school for art?

No.
I took it in highschool.
I used to be pretty good - won awards and stuff.

But it's been a few years--I've concentrated so much on my career that I've forgotten what brings me joy. I'm getting back into it again.

I really would like to study some theory and what not.
