The Simpsons Are Here!!! Matt Groening has gone on record stating that the Simpson's (and all related characters from the show) do live in a real state in the US.
For years, I've been trying to figure out where they are...as, I'm sure, many fans of the show have done. Well...I've finally done it. Matt Groening has given out the most telling clue yet. The telephone area code... Now...here's the obligatory spoiler warning... If you don't want to know what state the Simpsons live in, don't read any further. You've been warned... They live in Missouri. The clue, as mentioned, was their telephone area code...which is 636. That is the area code for the cities of St. Charles and Chesterfield...which, oddly enough are located in the Northeast section of the state (Springfield is in the Southwest section). http://www.missouritourism.org/ There is also a city called Springfield in that state...follow the URL... http://www.springfieldmo....N=19739856

The Devil bent your Church spire. I love that story, was told it as a kid and believed it for a long time. How did it happen? Legend tells of a powerful magician who persuaded a Bolsover blacksmith to shoe the Devil. The blacksmith, however drove a nail into the Devil's foot. Howling with rage, the Devil took flight towards Chesterfield. Skimming over the Church, he lashed out in agony, caught the spire and twisted it out of shape. Then again, was it lightning? Or did Lucifer sit on the Church and spitefully let his massive weight crush its elegant spire? Local people of course have their own explanation. Rumour had it that a virgin was getting married at the church, and the spire, never having seen a virgin bride before, leaned over to have a closer look. Should the event ever happen again, the spire will think it commonplace and straighten up. [Edited 4/9/05 7:56am]

Oh, i've figured this out some time ago. There's also a Springfield in Massachusettes, but on one episode Bart was mailing something and if you caught it real quick on the envelope, it said "Springfield, MS", which aren't the initials for Mass. So i figured it was Missouri, since there's a Springfield there too. Yesh. I iz SmRt. GlamSlamKid...The resident clown on Prince.orgy
