There are loads of urban myths, and I have no idea which ones are true.

Like:

- "if you don't wash your hair for [one month][insert period of time here], your hair begins to wash itself!!"



All you have to do is take a look at someone who hasn't washed themselves in a while to know this one is BS

- "You know that Marilyn Manson - he used to be Paul in the Wonder Years!"



Not true. I read an interview with the guy a few years back, and he laughed and laughed about it. He even went to an MM concert for the shear silliness of the rumour.
- "Eating celery () burns more calories than it gives you!!



True. Celery has very little in the way of calories

- "Did you know that you're more likely to die from a car crashing through a wall of your house than win the lottery."



I dunno about this one, but it wouldn't surprise me.

This website www.snopes.com claims to provide all the answers, but it doesn't give any reasons or arguments to back it up. So i'm not impressed.


Anyone know the answers to any of the above / have any other urban myths they've wondered about?
