Tanning beds

Is it possible to get a bit of colour that is natural-looking with these contraptions? Or do you end up looking all orange and ready for your breast augmentation appointment?

That's what I thought, but then I met this girl yesterday who had a really natural-looking bit of light colour and it looked great. She says it's from a tanning bed and I'm just wondering if anyone else has ever gotten a good result from these things. I always associate them with really cheesy-looking colour.

I saw these folks getting a spray tan that looked normal. I don't know too much about it other than that. cool

I would never do it long-term, it's just that - right now - I'm paler than a ghost. sad

ive been tanning now for about 3 weeks... yeah, yeah, i know, cancer - blah, blah, blah.... but heres the way i look at it, you can get cancer from ANYTHING now days sigh

and yes, i love my new color woot! it so far looks like im about a month into summertime. my eyes are bluer, my teeth look whiter, generally i would say i 'look' more healthy than i did before i started. plus, it feels good nod when you go in, its like a shot of vitamin D or something, i always have more energy when i come out !!

i choose the stand-up unit, but, thats just me shrug

i say go for it....

What about a spray tan? you know like St Tropez or something. Or you could roll around in some mud and post pictures. I prefer the latter option.

I don't have any personal experience (I'm fair and freckled and burn in regular sunshine within about 5 minutes) but I have several friends in the salon industry. The mistake the vast majority of people make is just tanning too long and too often. Every person's skin is different but a couple short visits can give a nice color without turning orangey, leathery or doing much damage. The key is to use it sparingly and supplement in the summer months with regular natural outdoor sunshine.

Hi, Ace,
I'm surprised that you're considering that, Ace.
You can get a natural tan from tanning beds, but they're just as bad as laying out in the sun.
But, I did the Airbrush Tan last summer and it worked out pretty well. It looked naural and you cna get it as light or as dark as you want. It lasts for about 2 weeks.
Don't confuse it with the "Mystical Tan" where you stand naked in a booth and have the tan jet sprayed.
With Airbrush, (you can't be modest or shy), you stand naked in a booth while someone stands in front of you and sprays it on you.
I know how it is to feel totally pale - people just look better tan.

I don't necessarily agree - a woman's skin tone means nothing to me. Just that I'm so pale right now, a scooch of colour might be alright.

I use tanning beds, I lay out in the sun, and I also use MAC Tint and Tan.

Be careful, my sister in law was just diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer at 26 because she is a die hard tanner, natural and bed. Is it worth it? I say go for the airbrush and stay healthy wink
