Finally, I'm writing again!! You guys, please be happy for me:) I've been a freelance writer for a few years now, but I've had writers block for a very long time. BUT I"M BACK!!!! I'm so happy....besides, I need the money.

I just submitted a query to this new magazine, so hopefully they will like the idea I have and run my story.

I'll keep you guys posted

Anyways, I miss being here, but haven't really been here much lately. I miss all the sex talk and whatnot..lol.

it feels good, doesn't it? i just recently finished an article for a story i pitched that got accepted. being intimidated and thinking you don't have a chance is more work than actually just writing the damn pitch letter and taking the initiative, right?

What do I write? Well, the story I just finished is more of an essay about being a single mother. This is the first story I written like this. I used to work as a reporter...mostly celeb gossip, but I think it's really gross now. I'd really like to graduate from that type of journalism. I feel like I have something meaningful to say now

i understand that. i used to write even more about pop culture than i do these days, but i got tired of dishing and ragging on media stars and i got more interested in writing about stuff that has more weight and worth...not that i don't still enjoy the occasional mud-fling at kirstie alley every now and then.

I write music reviews occasionally on Epinions.com. The reviewers on that site are very good and Iam way out of my depth. But they seem to respond quite positively.

i had a really good article up at the village voice web site from a story i did for them a couple of years back, but they took it out of their archives recently.

sometime this year, i'll have a new story up w/ another magazine...i thought it would be published within a couple of months, but they e-mailed me today to say they're pushing it back a few months.

I really hope you don't write "Smooches;)" at the bottom of every page of your work.

My brother writes for The Guardian among others in the UK and Scotland. He's always complaining about not getting the opportunities he might were he to set aside his integrity and push his weight around writing celeb gossip and the like. So many writers seem to have this notion that they should be writing arty film reviews in the Sunday supplements and maintaining their moral values, but in reality most of the time being pushy and an asshole is required, no?

p.s. There are so many second-rate hacks out there. I admire anyone in the field who isn't one.
