i think i'm in love currently i'm taking photography 1 and most of the pictures i've seen were nice and interesting but today i saw some by nan goldin. and i was blown away. i haven't felt this way since reading "sula" by toni morrison. a lot of you probably know of her. http://www.artnet.com/ag/...p?aid=7135

Moderator | Did somebody say Warhol?
Very cool photos! In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

Very cool photos! aren't they? they are so direct. i was just looking at an interview on her and she was talking about most of it was a recording or her life and her friends-most of them were her close friends who died of aids

nan goldin is very cool. a lot of her stuff is kind of morbid and depressing, but there's a lot of warmth in her photos, too. i was lucky enough to see her read from david wojnarowitz's diaries back when i lived in NYC - she was very sweet and very approachable. just a super down-to-earth lady. i think the work of hers that shocked me the most were the pictures she took of cookie mueller's funeral, including a picture of cookie in her coffin.
