Help with Sims2

What is a video card?????!!!!!

I've been wanting to purchase Sims 2 for awhile.
Im bored so now would be the perfect time to get it
I read over the system requirements and it stated this:

If you have a T&L capable video card with at least 32 MB of video RAM then you need at least:

* 800 MHz processor or better
* 256 MB RAM if Windows XP, Windows ME, Windows 98 or Windows 2000
* At least 3.5 GB of hard drive space

video card??? U cant just stick it in the computer and play?

Most puters already have a video card built in them. You can of course buy better ones and swap out cards. A video card basically allows you to see images on your screen. ANd view movies etc. Games need decent video cards to play. Sims for instance needs one that can always have things animated constantly. It looks like the requirements are pretty low for a video card. The real requirements are in the processor and RAM. Not sure what T&L means...but if you have a puter that you have gotten in the past 2 years or so or have updated recently, you should be fine. Older models may not have the OTHER requirements which are actually standard on all computers these days or better.

what kind of computer do you have?

That's an odd number of RAM hmm

But if you have a relatively new vaio, your "video" (hah, how not nerdy; it's VGA or GFX or SALMON CRUNCHING DEMON) card will be 32MB at least.

Vaios have decent video cards...though aren't the greatest computers.

You should be fine.

There are programs that can remove all that crap. Also a purchased spyware clean up software would be to your advantage. It'll also help with playing the SIMS2. If you have a good friend who is puter savvy, have them do a clean up.

Good luck to ya. I am a bit jealous that you are getting this. I have wanted it for a while now (I just have no time to play).
