That's the one that is the companion to Desperation right? hmmm

If it's the one I'm thinking of it's best if you read both books then you get the full impact. Same story but different setting and the characters are all switched around, different ending too. Really a trip and a half when you finish reading both. nod

Read this ages ago but went to a party this weekend, saw the book on the guys bookshelf, raved about it and he gave it to me. Hardback signed by Clive himself. Love this story.

I've been re-reading Spenser's Faerie Queene for the last several weeks.

I am now in Book IV, the book on friendship that tells the story of Cambel and Telemond (though there is no Telemond).

Friendship is one of those virtues as important as love, temperance, chastity, justice, and holiness for Spenser.

Here's the first stanza of Book IV canto 4:

It often fals, (as here it earst befell)
That mortall foes doe turne to faithfull frends,
And friends profest are chaungd to foemen fell:
The cause of both, of both their minds depends;
And th'end of both likewise of both their ends.
For enmitie, that of no ill proceeds,
But of occasion, with th'occasion ends;
And friendship, which a faint affection breeds
Without regard of good, dyes like ill grounded seeds.

Brother ain't that the truth!

John 3:16-20 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
