If u don't mind, can I please have my soul back ? uhmmm I like almost died a couple of weeks ago and then i figured Oh damn somebody tried to captivate my soul, so i'm only gonna ask this once and i asked nicely can I please have my soul back ? I remember, when I was wee, my mum telling me to find something I enjoyed doing in life and I would never work another day. Well, I fucking hate writing, but I am damn good at it. But this first book's a nightmare to finish. One story, six perspectives. No truth. One of these perspectives being the essence of one of the children who help kill another's parents before they are incarnated into their body. I tried to write that sixth as if I had never learned anything ever. Just colour and confusion spewed out in pretty projectiles. The sixth coming from the perspective of one of the boy's pet dog was easy though. I wish I was a dog.  | |

i love writing, though i know the feeling of hating it. i just finished a magazine piece a couple of weeks ago, and at some points, i just wanted to chuck it all and be like bonnie pearl in 'waiting for guffman'....."oh, we don't know many creative types...we have our scrabble group, and we know people with babies"....but when it was finally done, i realized i loved every agonizing, annoying, hopeless moment of it.
if i knew how to devote all my time to writing without the distraction of having to hold a jay oh bee, i feel like the focus would turn me into a writing monster. i know that sounds like a whiney excuse, and that's probably because it's exactly what it is. | |
