i think there's a difference between having OCD and being organized. i used to be a big ol' slob until i moved in to my own apartment, and now i'm a complete neat freak. everything is in its place, and i stress out when i'm too busy to clean up every day. it just makes me feel better to come home from a crappy day at work and walk into a well put-together and clean apartment. it makes a difference.

also, i think what maya angelou said is true: there's no way you can have what it takes to change the world if you can't at least make your bed every morning (paraphrased miserably, i'm sure). i take that to heart - i have a rule that if i don't get anything else done in a given day, at least i made my damn bed in the morning.

Absolutely. Mentally I'm far better suited to dealing with many things if my surroundings are neat and tidy. I'm not sure if this is a failing and whether to be able to concentrate in a messy atmosphere would show a great skill, but for me I just 'work' better as a human being if my surroundings are ordered and just how I want them.

If things are not clean and tidy I don't feel right. I hate any amount of clutter. A cluttered home = a cluttered mind.
