Well? Come on, I want to know, seriously, are there really hundreds of them in the US? or that only cable?

i don't have cable. i just watch DVD what the netflixes sends me.

I have access to maybe 160 or so out of 999 channels...but I only watch like 5 lol

i wish we could order cable tv stations individually, for like five bucks a month per station or something. all i really want is comedy central and VH1, maybe E! or the Game Show channel. all the rest are a waste of my time and money.

cable here 36 canals that i can watch and some arabic ones that i don't understand

I've got maybe 35, give or take a few. I got cable but it's very basic and I get the basic channels, Cspan 2 (not 1 but 2 is a little bit better), some public access things (Ann Arbor has some really interesting cable access...they never had anything like this in St. Clair Shores or New Baltimore) and some a handful of actual cable stations like TMC, TechTV (not sure what's it called, but the one with the video game show...) and some others. Sadly, no good stuff like MTV, VH1, etc (you miss it when it's gone!). So why do I have this cable? It only costs like 10 dollars! My sister had it when I moved in and I don't think she wanted "real" cable, so we've stuck with it. Needless to say, I rent a lot of videos!

Too many to count but never much on.....the I got Sky + OMFG it changed my world

Five dollars a station a month? Doesn't HBO cost about that much? I know cable is expensive, but if you want like 10 or so stations, you're paying $50...might as well get them all for about that much (I think my parents might pay $60 and they just get cable...no digital, no premiums!). If I did pay per view, I'd go nuts and get too many, or juggle them around (I would want MTV for the video music awards...VH1 for this upcoming concert....).

I think it's funny that so many people say that no matter how many channels they have, there's never anything good airing. Unfortunately I think, like radio, too much competition actually lowers the quality instead of improving it. Everyone just tries to grap people's attention by showing quick, non-substantial, sensationalized BS.
Could just be me being bitter though.
