Not that I am a photographer or anything...just an amateur...but I used to be an art student and am keen to visuals. I think if I spent a grand on a cam, I'd take millions of pics. And I learned thru both school and practice...I've always taken tons of "practice" photos ever since I was about 10 years old ...and I've had about two years combined of photography at both Moorpark College (community) and CalArts (art institute)..

Compared to yours, my pics will look like they were taken with a disposable Kodak by a 5-year old at a wedding...you know, lots of odd angles, fingers over the lens, hair flying in the lens, pictures of legs, heads cut off, weird things growing out of heads...the works. Not exactly. I will send you a few I took in SF if you orgnote me your email.
I wish my cam had a depth of field...that's mainly why I'd want an SLR. I love the blurred background look. I studied art in high school, just visual art (drawing) but I wish I'd taken a photography class or two.  | |
