I came to this site in early 2000 and mostly lurked around...I started posting maybe a year or so later once I got a job where I was able to do so. The first orger I spoke with was DavidEye in the non-music section....(he is a GREAT guy) Though I don't speak with him regularly or anything he really was nice and informative...Anyway I mostly just read stuff here in GD never posted...only posted in the Prince and non-Prince sections...When I first posted I got harrassed some and made fun of for no apparent reason (I didn't start off posting like I currently do) Mainly cause of my different views on musical subjects.
I came to the GD side cause the Prince and non area began repeating itself (which it still does) And liked the insanity, but of course was ignored cause I was viewed as a newbie or whatever...I first befriended Andgodcreatedme, Natisse and MrJoker early on and talked mostly to them. I posted a pic on a picture thread and was deemed "fine" by the org public and boom instant popularity...Well actually since people knew I was somewhat attractive then they started actually read what I wrote. But anyway the point of this is I just want to tell MY story and say Anxiety is right...do your thing and let them come to you... clever clever quotation - attention getting quote - sad yet witty remark - look at me! Im deep quote- song lyric about my ex cause that bitch stole my mp3 player! - line from movie I liked - Prince lyric - not very clever sig mocking other sigs | |

I'm sorry, but it just bothers me. Everyone has the right to ask questions, even if they are 'silly'. I just don't get it. People have to act like they're part of the Prince.org-elite. I mean, this is an INTERNET-site. Theocratic order? I think we should be glad for every 'newbie' that discovers Prince. Or this site. Can't we be welcoming, or at least neutral? nice topic Marielouise, I totally agree with your opinion. It's sometimes a bit scary for a newbie like me to read comments to newbie posts, it makes me a bit reserved of posting myself. But I'm getting over it

nope. newbie-bashing happens on every online forum. this site is famous for it ,but for example there are two other Prince fan sites that never flame newbies ,i mean here you have the 'moderators' doing it
