Some people are clever and make out all is ok with them.. I think I have to go with my gut feeling on this one.. but what if its wrong? confuse

Like I said, you don't get gut feelings for no reason. Perhaps you should take a little more time to focus and discerne exactly what is happening here but I still say to leave it alone if it's causing you pain and or confusion. Relationships should be natural and not so laborious.

Supa is right. nod And putting distance between you can give you more objectivity about it.

Exactly. I made this analogy in the domestic abuse thread:

Being in my abusive relationship, my mind was full of confusion and chaos and I had no idea if I was coming or going. Once I left, my mind became clear. I had time to focus. I had the emotional energy to heal myself. I had the will to live and to believe in myself. I think of it this way: if you are up with your face right directly in front of the TV screen, it's nearly impossible to tell what is going on. Once you pull back and away from the screen you can clearly see the picture.

Listen to Supa, honey - he knows what he's talking about.
I agree with him wholeheartedly with everything he said. I've been in a sistuation similar to his.
This person is probably evil, manipulative and mean - but he wants YOU to think YOU'RE crazy and you know you're not. Go with your gut.
