faux dreads.

i just have a question. i considering getting dreads for spring/summer but i don't have the patience for them. i was thinking of getting some extension dreads long enough to reach my butt. i searched the internet for some pics of some extension dreads but couldn't find any of black women or men and i really want to know how it looks on my hair. and secondly about how much would they cost in chicago and any info you may have.

thanks to anyone who has some info

I had dred extensions about 10 1/2 years ago. Platinum and regular blonde. I only had them do the top, and they didn't do every piece of hair. I know it all sounds really weird, but it looked fabulous. I think the whole thing cost about $200, and then I had them add another $75 in a month or so later. I'd guess for a full head, every piece of hair, these days would run at least $400-$500. But I don't really know.

Crystal Gayle Butt Crack Dreads? lol

I think they are probably expensive (cuz they are long) gotta be more than 50 per dread...gotta be. Are you ready for the work it's gonna take...to take care of hair/Extensions that long...not to mention the added weight (At least 25 pounds). I'd go someplace where they do good extensions and weaves and ask someone.

hmmm i never considered the weight of them. i just wanted to show off my ass razz but i'll ask first about the care of them. i may still get them, i've been thinking about dreads for a long time but i never got them. 'bout time to let this relaxer grow out smile

Best way is to really grow them yourself. Lil dreads are cute. If you got some hair on you, consider making them dreads...instead of getting extensions.
